A list of some of Daryl’s most frequently asked questions. If something is not covered and answered in the below then feel free to contact and ask as much as you want. See the link at the bottom of the page are simply come back and click here.

What services do you offer?

Daryl offers either photography or film for his weddings, elopements and adventure sessions. All packages as minimum include; pre-wedding consultations where we can chat, get to know each other or organise your timeline. Venue or location scouting where local, so we can get a feel for the venue or location and plan the best locations for shooting. Usually however Daryl might not need a venue visit and can come early on the day to scout! Up to 10 hours coverage on the day, which usually encompasses getting ready up to the first dance and bit after on shorter days. Digital download of all your images / videos, which you have full printing rights for.

Although Daryl is primarily a photographer, he also offers video for your day in the form of 3-5 minute highlight reel from parts of the day. As photography is his prime focus, the highlights might not include the first kiss for example. The highlight reel also would not include audio from speeches.

For photography this starts at £1500 and to include video / highlight reels the price would be £2250.

Are you insured?

Yes, full public liability and professional indemnity insurance. Proof can be provided if your venue etc requires. Daryl is also a licensed CAA drone pilot so can capture alternate angles of the day which others are unable to.

What is your approach and experience in wedding photography?

Daryl has been shooting weddings for 5 years now, in different kind of venues, locations and weather! His photography could be described as authentic, natural and unobtrusive. Capturing your day in a documentary style as the events and moments unfold, the getting ready details, ceremony, your guests, moments you might miss, the speeches, the reception and well into the night time on the dance floor.

You can read more about Daryl’s approach here.

What can we expect on the day from you, as our photographer?

Daryl will ensure a great relationship heading into the wedding so on the day you have not only your photographer, but a friend who is calming and there for whatever you need. Having a great relationship, which can be built through face time calls, in person meetings or engagement sessions, helps bring out the best emotions on the day, Being your friend means Daryl can do his best work without things feeling more like a business relationship. Resulting in better more authentic and natural photos of you and your guests.

Would you recommend a second photographer?

Not always, for most weddings Daryl is comfortable and super capable working on his own, this is where he shines best, no distractions and free to move around to suit the schedule. For anything over 200 guests, or where you want both the bride and groom captured getting ready at the same time, its advisable to add an additional photographer to the package to ensure maximum coverage or when the timeline might prohibit Daryl being in two places at once.

Destination and Travelling for Weddings, is that something you offer?

Yes, Daryl loves to travel (see here for his travels) and given the opportunity to see a new place with amazing people is always of interest. Whether this is outside of Northumberland, out of the UK or a couple coming from abroad, a photographic package can be tailored to suit your day. As part of the photography expenses, Daryl would charge for fuel expenses if travelling more than 35 miles from home. For Destination Weddings expenses are more complex so a discussion would be had during our initial consultation.

How many pictures can we expect to recieve?

This has many different factors which could determine the amount of images you receive in the final gallery, but in general for a shorter wedding day you’d receive up to 500 images and for a full wedding day (and Daryl’s general packages) this would be around 600 images or for the All Day Ultimate Package this would be around 700 plus. So it can vary between events.

The images are also edited with Daryl’s own unique style, one by one, no presets ensuring each day is captured as it was. So on delivery of the images you’ll know what to expect through looking at the galleries on this site.

How long till we receive our images?

A typical delivery time frame is within 8-12 weeks of your day depending on Daryl’s shooting schedule. Usually Daryl will get these over to you in 6 weeks however during busy periods this is often not possible due to other commitments. You will receive a small selection of 5-10 images within 48 hours your day so you can share your news online or elsewhere. If there are specific images from the day you might like first this is of course possible too.

If you want your images a little quicker, within two weeks, this is also possible with an additional fee, see Daryl’s wedding packages here for more info.

How are the images delivered?

Once your gallery is ready to be delivered you are sent a direct download link to both High Res and Low Res versions. These can then be shared as you like with your family and friends. You should back up these images for future use, they are kept available online via the link for one year and on multiple hard drives in Daryl’s workplace.

Daryl is looking to implement an online gallery platform into the client experience which will make image delivery smoother, this should come in 2024 which also offers the ability to purchase prints, albums etc.

Can we have the RAW or unedited Images?

The short answer, no. Part of the reasoning is due to the magic that goes into editing an image so it looks the best it can. If there is a specific image sent over in black and white but you’d like it in colour, Daryl can send both. However, you do receive a mix of both colour and black and white images in your finally gallery.

Do we have the rights to our photos?

Absolutely! You are able to print and share your images as you please, all that is asked is you do not add filters or crop the images in a weird way which may harm Daryl’s reputation online and his creative vision and style.

If a vendor, venue etc wish to use Daryl’s images as part of their own commercial usage they should make contact with Daryl to discuss.

We aren’t photogenic and are worried about being infront of the camera!

This is probably the phrase couples mention the most when we get together to discuss the details of the day, so don’t worry you are not alone! Almost every couple you see on the site has said they are camera shy or don’t photograph well, however through years of experience Daryl will put you at ease and make sure you are feeling comfortable and natural, the best way to authentic photos. No rigid posing, no following guides, we keep things loose, fun and engaging for the both of you. Most of the time the images are captured when you two are just ‘hanging out’ and enjoying your day. Prompts and directions might be used to fit the mood and the environment and of course your own personalities.

Do you take group / formal photos?

Of course. These family and friend pictures can be just as important as the other memories but Daryl always advises his couples to keep these short and sweet. Usually 10 images maximum to cover most of the family and wedding party. This also makes sure you’re not standing around for 30 minutes but more importantly ensures you spend more time with your guests enjoying the day.

What is required to officially make a booking?

A 30% non refundable retainer and a signed contract. The final balance is paid one month before the day of your event so you aren’t stressing about payments when you have other things on your mind.

Are our images backed up?

Yes, on the day Daryl shoots with two cameras which are continually writing the images or video to two cards. Once the day is finished all of your images are backed up to three devices as a minimum. Once your gallery has been delivered it is your responsibility to make a copy of these images although they will still remain on Daryl’s hard drives / online for a minimum of a year.

Do you need adding to the catering list for the day?

If this is something you are able to do then Daryl would appreciate being fed and watered. If not don’t worry, Daryl can break and eat his own food when you and your guests are eating during the wedding breakfast.
